AFRICA, DEAR AFRICA

Africa
Dear Africa,

You are dear to my heart,
And your pain hurts my heart
Deep down inside me
I know that you cry
Whether be during the day
And in the middle of the night
I know that you cry

Your children are scattered
And your parents are flattered
By an unknown presence
But still forever oppressing your existence
Whether be during the day
And in the middle of the night
I know that you cry

Your courage seems to diminish
But look at your children
They are powerless
And when you look at them
I know that you cry

Where would your get your rest
From the constant pressure
When I think of your future
I see it bright and promising
Gather your strength
For the day is coming
And you will see it coming
For your victory
And from every corner of the world
Your children will rejoice

Drums will beat
For dances and celebrations
Yes, from the look in your eyes
I know you will cry
But down your cheeks will be tears of joy
